11 Simple Ways to Build an Ideal Lifestyle

11 Ways to Build an Ideal Lifestyle,
Your Lifestyle Decides The Quality of Your Life.

How you live your life impacts you in more ways than you realize. A good lifestyle will always act as a force that pushes you forward in your life, through all the ups and downs. On the other hand a bad lifestyle. can cause you to spiral down in life. If your lifestyle is not helping you to be better and experience the best possible life, then you are likely falling behind in some aspect of your life, i.e. one of the 11 points that I'm going to share in this post.

Don't worry, no one is perfect, but we all can try to be better than how we were yesterday.

In this post, I'm going to share 11 things that I added in my lifestyle to give my life some shape and direction. These are some simple, basic things that you might have heard a million times but there's a reason why they are repeated like a mantra by every successful person.

So let's jump right into it!

11 Simple Ways to Build an Ideal Lifestyle

1. Get Serious About Your Health

A good lifestyle is incomplete without a healthy body and by health I mean both physical and mental health. I know, this is how most of my wellness posts start, but I can't emphasize enough how important this really is.

The good news is that the first step to both mental and physical health is good nutrition and regular exercise. So basically don't need to make separate efforts for mental and physical health.

Food and exercise affect the way we work, how we feel, and how we live. It's not just a means to lose a few pounds, but a natural way to maintain a healthy body.

Therefore, add 30 minutes of exercise in your schedule, and start preparing your own, healthy food at home. Learning a few simple recipes will save you a lot of money and your health.

Not a great cook? Don't worry, neither am I. But I do know where you can find more than 1000 recipes across 12 different categories, plus desserts and beverage recipes (and much more!). Check out this amazing bundle to get started on a healthy eating journey: Healthy Meal Planning Bundle

2. Learn to Manage Stress

In addition to food and exercise, stress management is so crucial for your health.

You should learn how to manage stress- a leading cause of mental distress in the modern world, and proven to cause physical illnesses like heart diseases and diabetes when chronic.

Stress being inevitable mandates that you learn to manage stress. Learn to notice the signs of stress in your body.

Speaking from experience, a stressed-out body can never function well; neither mentally or physically.

One of the best ways to deal with stress is by practicing deep breathing relaxation. This is also my favorite method of relaxation. Meditation and mindfulness help a lot too. Therefore, it is advised that if you are a particularly anxious person (and even if you are not), you should consider including mindfulness and meditation in your daily routine. Practice deep breathing and mindfulness as a part of your routine. Practicing daily will ensure that you can apply the techniques when you are actually in crisis.

You gotta save your body from distress!

3. Practice Minimalism

Minimalism is a way of living which has gotten a lot of attention in the past few years: for a good reason, I'd say.

So, why minimalism? Short answer, it makes your life simpler. It's not just the pleasing-to-the-eyes, clutter-free environment that it gives that drove these many people towards this new lifestyle. It's not just about owning less. Minimalism makes you value things that are truly important rather than giving value to materialistic things. Also, cleaner space promotes a clearer mind, so you can think and feel better.

Not to mention it saves a lot of money. Nobody needs all the junk they buy, and we all buy junk we don't need every now-and-then. So, minimalism is the answer if you have a problem with money, self-worth, and being happy in general.

4. Socialize (With the Right People)

Socializing as a part of an ideal lifestyle? Well, yes. It's a very important factor, which I'm pretty sure introverts may not be happy to read about (I'm an introvert as well). But it is one of those things that strengthens and supports you.

You don't have to know a ton of people or party every day to socialize. I do not mean that at all. By socializing I mean, spend time and build stronger relationships with people who are important to you. One, two or more: doesn't matter.

Having a good social connection is proven scientifically to prevent and heal mental illnesses. It's one of the great ways to stimulate your feel-good-hormones naturally.

Good relationships make you happy, and they always encourage you to do and be good. Other than this, it is also proven to strengthen the immune system and even prevent dementia in older ages. All this because of the right people in your life.

So I don't see why someone wouldn't want to spend an hour of senseless chat with their best friend.

5. Intentional Living

What is intentional living? Having a reason behind everything that you do, is the simplest way to explain its meaning.

Intentional living involves living according to your beliefs. When you live intentionally your actions are complementary to the way you think and want to live your life.

It involves questions: What are you doing? Why are you doing it? How is it going to impact you and the people around you?

Intentional living is a great way that ensures that you live the way you want to live your life and will help you reach your goals faster.

Remember this: Small term actions are needed for a long-term goal. Intentional living is going to help you live a purposeful life.

6. Spirituality:

According to Google, spirituality is defined as

the quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things.

This could mean anything to you: religion or some other practices.

Everyone has a different definition of spirituality, and that's okay. Some people seek it through religion, seeking God, and the non-religious group seeks it through nature, meditation, yoga, or even a mix of various religious and non-religious practices.

Studies suggest that spiritual people are more grateful, compassionate, more optimistic and have health benefits such as less depression and lower blood pressure. Translation: they experience more good emotions as well as better health.

So, don't be afraid to have your own beliefs, and don't forget to practice them because they will help you attain peace.

7. Manage Your Time

Yeah, I get it that you are a busy person, but let me just remind you that life is not going to wait for you. Don't get so caught in work that you are not left with any time to see your kids grow up, or pursue your true passion.

Learning to manage time is one of the greatest life skill that you can learn. If you want to have a life full of experiences then time management is a must.

Make a schedule, and plan for bigger adventures.

9. Few Minutes Each Day for Self-Care

Every day spend 10 minutes on your self-care. The activity doesn't have to be very complex but you can go creative with it. Maybe it's just the 10 minutes you spend for your morning or night-time routine or making a special cup tea that you can enjoy in silence, being in the moment. You can even meditate to stop the unhealthy thoughts. Do the ritual that you need to do.

Self-care will help with self-image. When you treat yourself in a caring way, you automatically develop self-confidence and become more comfortable in your skin. It is a direct way to practice self-love.

10. Realize the Importance of Hobbies

Personally speaking, my hobbies keep me sane in this crazy world. It's my perfect escape, and I always end up feeling good and energized, ready to face the challenge when I'm done. It's often a great brain-teaser and gives me a feeling of accomplishment when I'm done with a project or when I overcome an obstacle. This, in turn, boosts my confidence.

It's such a great stress-reliever for me! Hobbies make me forget about the things that are bothering me. It helps kick-start creativity in me when I'm stuck.

So, my hobbies are a great part of my life, a part of my life that I enjoy, and I love how oxytocin makes me feel.

If you have free time, practice your hobbies or learn new hobbies. This will use up your time in doing something constructive and will not leave any time for you to have negative thought: Because we all know an idle mind is the devil's workshop.

11. Don't Forget About the Goals You Made

What are your goals? For tomorrow, next week, next year, next 5 years and lifetime? Okay, I don't want to pressurize to make your life plan while reading this post, but we all should at least have short-term goals.

Keep working on them.

I believe that we all have to find our purpose in life: what we want to do and where we want to reach. Making plans are important for reaching there. It will give you a sense of purpose and make your life more meaningful.

Take one small step every day that will lead you one step closer to your goal and develop skills that will make you better.

Conclusion

Our lifestyle defines our life. It decides how happy we're going to be and how much we are going to grow. That's why it's important that you just don't let your time flow by and rather have a planned lifestyle that will help you live the best life possible: the kind of life you want to live.

These simple changes in your life will bring great changes in your life.

Start by modifying your diet and exercise. Practice mindfulness, make your living intentional and save money. Learn new things, and take out time to experience new things.

Plan your lifestyle in a way that will bring immense joy and happiness to you.

Your genetics load the gun. Your lifestyle pulls the trigger.

  4. Love this blog post, there's a lot of great advice here. I often say to people how good exercise is, I know it can be hard to do it but the benefits it has on your mental health as well as your physical health is amazing. I used to have a late night gym class at 8pm and every week when it got to it I'd think how much I couldn't be bothered but after the class I felt amazing, my mood would lift instantly, it's such a positive thing. Lovey post! :)

  9. Great tips, particularly spirituality, intentional living, and time management. Ever since starting my blog, that's all I've wanted to work on from the moment I wake up until the moment I go to bed. And I can't most days because I work, which means that the instant I get up until I head to work, I'm doing blog-related activities, and then as soon as I come home from work. But now I realize that other areas of my life are getting neglected. So now I'm making room again for prayer, meditation, and journaling. Thanks for the reminder!
